STUNTGIRL sponsored big wave surfer and defending paddleboard champion SHAKIRA WESTDORP took 2nd place at the 2008 Quiksilver Edition Molokai To Oahu Paddleboard Race yesterday in Molokai, Hawaii.
Shakira was neck and neck with the 1st place Kanesa Duncan, finishing the race in 6 hours, 31 minutes, 34 seconds….only 3 minutes separating her from Kanesa.
STUNTGIRL.COM congratulates Shakira, a professional LifeGuard from Queensland, Australia who has also won the Quiksilver Paddleboard Race in Queensland (2006), won the 2007 Honolua Paddleboard Race (8k) and took 1st place for the women at the 2007 Hennessey's International Paddleboard Race in Hawaii -July 2007 (where she placed 8th overall – out of 190 men & women). And, of course, on July 29, 2007.....she won the women’s division at the 2007 QUIKSILVER EDITION MOLOKAI TO OAHU PADDLEBOARD RACE IN HAWAII, beating out 5-time defending champ, Kanesa Duncan.
Shakira who also spends her time tow-in surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, big wave surfing and foil boarding has a goal to ride the biggest wave ever ridden by a female and hopefully stick it to a few blokes as well.
Her upcoming stunt work debut in the film WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (scheduled release 2009) will showcase her skills as a STUNTGIRL and a world class waterwoman.
Celebrating its 12th anniversary, the Quiksilver Edition Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard Race is considered to be the world championship of long-distance, open-ocean paddling. Spanning the 32 MILES of deep, treacherous open ocean between the islands of Molokai and Oahu, this race is the ultimate test of physical fitness, strength and endurance.

EDITION 32 mile MOLOKAI to OAHU PADDLEBOARD RACE - with a time of 5:59;52. She defeated second-place finisher Kanesa Duncan,
who had won the past 3 years straight.
